About this card
Freyja is a goddess of the Vanir, associated with love, beauty, fertility, war, and the magic of seiðr [S2]. She is the sister of Freyr and the owner of the necklace Brísingamen [S2]. She is a war-goddess: she chooses half of the slain for her hall Fólkvangr (the other half going to Odin's Valhalla) [S2]. She is also a goddess of seiðr (a form of Norse magic), which was associated with both power and taboo [S2]. Freyrja is a complex, powerful female deity who straddles the domains of love and war [S2].
